SKU: Arc 80

The ELARC MILL-ARC 80 is a high alloyed welding electrode developed to provide a wear-resistant coating on the teeth of sugar mill feed rolls. This will effectively improve the gripping properties and feed rates by as much as 15-20%. MILL-ARC 80 works by depositing very hard metal globules to the cast iron mill roll which can increase the
surface area of the rolls by as much as 12%

The electrode can be applied to the rolls
during maintenance periods when the mill is free from cane. During normal mill operation, five foot "boomstick" extension is used to gain access to both the top feed and discharge rolls. Use increased amperage when welding the rolls in wet conditions.

    Mechanical Properties

  • The Weld deposits consists of chromium carbides which are highly resistant to abrasive wear. Deposits can only be removed by grinding.
